Juan Carlos Salazar fue un querido cantante, compositor y cuatrista venezolano, cuyo amor por la vida, la música y su familia dejó una huella profunda en todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo. Su calidez y generosidad tocaban a quienes lo rodeaban, y su pasión por la música lo convirtió en una figura inolvidable.

Nacido en Caripito, Estado Monagas, Venezuela, Juan Carlos fue el menor de ocho hermanos y creció en Maturín, donde fue muy consentido por su familia. Desde pequeño, mostró un gran amor por la música y los deportes, destacándose en el béisbol, lo que lo llevó incluso a representar a Venezuela en Estados Unidos. A los 16 años, de manera inesperada, inició su carrera artística al reemplazar a un compañero en un concurso nacional de canto, ganando el primer lugar sin haber tomado nunca una lección de canto. Ese evento marcaría el inicio de una trayectoria artística que duraría más de 20 años, llenando de alegría a audiencias en Venezuela, República Dominicana, Estados Unidos y Europa.

Además de su carrera artística, Juan Carlos alcanzó importantes logros académicos. Se graduó como Ingeniero Civil en la Universidad de Oriente en Venezuela en 1986. Más tarde, obtuvo una Maestría en Administración de Empresas (MBA) en Management y Marketing en la Colorado State University en 1994, y finalmente, en 2002, completó su Certificado de Máster en Gestión de Proyectos (Project Management) en la George Washington University. Estos logros reflejan su dedicación no solo a la música, sino también a su desarrollo profesional y su pasión por seguir aprendiendo.

A pesar de su éxito profesional y artístico, Juan Carlos siempre valoró las cosas simples de la vida. Disfrutaba de caminar, andar en bicicleta, hacer parrilladas con sus amigos y familiares, y pasar tiempo con sus hijos. También encontraba gran alegría en consentir a su querido red retriever, Kahlua, quien se convirtió en su inseparable compañero. Juan Carlos era un excelente cocinero y fanático del show Friends, que veía repetidamente con el mismo entusiasmo.

La música fue, sin duda, una de las grandes pasiones de su vida. Con su voz suave pero llena de energía, Juan Carlos dominaba el escenario, haciendo que cada una de sus presentaciones fuera una experiencia inolvidable. Aunque actuó en grandes escenarios alrededor del mundo, siempre decía que sus momentos más preciados eran aquellos compartidos en familia o con amigos cercanos, donde la música era más íntima y personal.

Desde 2001, hizo de Orlando, Florida, su hogar, desde donde continuó compartiendo su amor por la música con amigos, familiares y admiradores. Además de su amor por la música y los estudios, disfrutaba viajar, explorando nuevas culturas y experiencias que compartía con entusiasmo con quienes lo rodeaban.

La familia fue siempre el centro de su vida. Fue un padre, hijo, hermano y amigo inigualable, cuya generosidad y amor dejaron una huella profunda en todos los que lo conocieron.

Su legado de amor y música sigue vivo en sus hijos, Ana Carolina, Francia y Carlos Salazar, así como en numerosos familiares y amigos que siempre lo recordarán con amor y gratitud.

Nos duele despedirlo, pero su legado de amor, alegría y bondad perdurará en nuestros corazones. Este momento también nos recuerda la importancia de cuidar nuestra salud mental, un aspecto vital que no debemos ignorar.

A partir de ahora, Juan Carlos vivirá en cada uno de nosotros, en los momentos compartidos y en las notas de sus canciones. Mientras su voz siga sonando, su espíritu estará presente. Tal como lo bautizó María Teresa Chacín, “La voz que acaricia a Venezuela” seguirá resonando en nuestros corazones, a través de las melodías eternas que nos deja en esta tierra.

Since 2001, Juan Carlos made Orlando, Florida, his home, where he continued sharing his love for music with friends, family, and admirers. In addition to his passion for music and studies, he enjoyed traveling, discovering new cultures, and sharing these experiences with those around him.

Family was always the core of his life. He was a father, son, brother, and friend like no other, whose generosity and love left a profound mark on all who knew him.

His legacy of love and music lives on through his children, Ana Carolina, Francia, and Carlos Salazar, as well as through the many family members and friends who will always remember him with love and gratitude.

Though it pains us to say goodbye, his legacy of love, joy, and kindness will live on in our hearts. This moment also serves as a reminder of the importance of mental health, a vital aspect that must not be overlooked.

From now on, Juan Carlos will live in each of us, through shared memories and in the notes of his songs. As long as his voice continues to echo, his spirit will remain with us. As María Teresa Chacín so fittingly called him, "The voice that caresses Venezuela"will continue to resonate in our hearts through the eternal melodies he leaves behind.
