Robert “Curt” Heisler, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away on May 24th, 2024 at home in Altamonte Springs, FL. He was born on July 7th, 1959. He graduated from Lenoir Rhyne University before joining the US Army. Curt served honorably as an officer for ten years, graduating Ranger School and commanding in the Armor, Airborne, and Military Intelligence branches of the Army. He participated in multiple strategic deployments throughout 1989 while part of the 1st Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, conducting three parachute assaults into three different Middle Eastern countries, crossed the Atlantic Ocean six times, landed in nine different countries, and travelled over 42,000 miles. Curt also served in Operation Desert Storm in 1991.
In 1982 he married his high school sweetheart Patricia Donelson Heisler. Curt will always be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. His passions included gardening, hunting, and teaching friends and family marksmanship. His most cherished pastime was hosting loved ones at his beloved hunt camp to share in his appreciation for nature and create lasting memories. His legacy lives on through the profound effect he had on his wife, three sons, extended family members, and countless loving friends.
Curt is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Patti of 42 years, son Shay (Kate), son Joel (Kallie), son Jacob (Allyson), grandchildren Bobby, Camden, George, brother Bill, sister Beth (Phil), sister Laura (John), sister Stephanie (Curtis), and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service to honor his life will be held on Friday June 7th, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Following the service, a Celebration of Curt’s Life will be held at 936 Cinnamon Court, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Research Institute or Wounded Warrior Project.
