Sammy John Capra, also known as Sam, passed away at the age of 48 on October 28, 2024 in Orlando, Florida . He was born on May 13, 1976, in Kansas City, Missouri. Sam is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Lisa Capra, children; Alaina (Hunter) Petraski, Joseph Capra, and Gianna Capra, mother; Louise Capra of Kansas City, MO; sisters, Sara (Dan Bradford) Capra, Lisa (Jason) Franklin, all of Kansas City, MO, niece, nephews, numerous extended family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be cherished by his family and friends forever.

 

Sam was a bright and talented individual who pursued his education at Park Hill High School in Kansas City and later graduated from the University of Montevallo in Alabama with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications in 1998. He excelled in his career as the Vice President of Sales for Upgrade, where he made significant contributions and touched the lives of many with his professionalism and dedication.

 

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Sam was deeply involved in his community and society. He was a proud alum of the Montevallo Basketball Association and sponsored numerous children in Africa, showcasing his philanthropic spirit and commitment to making the world a better place. Sam's generosity and kindness extended beyond borders, leaving a lasting impact on those he touched.

 

As we mourn the loss of Sam, we take comfort in the knowledge that he was able to help 26 people through organ donation, further illustrating his selflessness and desire to make a positive impact on the world.
